I couldn't buy anything better than this. I ordered the extra long drill bits. Beside the price is amazing low. I love the way it was made in such precision. Even more, the case the bits in it is prefect with the index lay out. Thank you Grizzly Industrial Inc. & Amazon.
when you need a litte extra, its great.bits are good quality but not excellent quality.well worth the investment
Considering you get 13 bits for about the price of one or (maybe) two high quality ones, I think these are a pretty good deal.Regarding flexing, I don't think it's possible to make a thin, long bit that won't flex a little, and many of the bits in this set are thin. I bought this bit set a few years ago for those rare occasions when I need a bit that's a little longer than normal (pocket holes, etc). I have used them a few dozen times, only in wood (hard and soft), and mostly in a hand held electric drill - I have been pleased with the results.These are not the highest quality drill bits you can buy, but they are good enough for average work. Whenever possible I try to drill a pilot hole using a standard size bit, and then use the 6" bit for the remaining depth. This seems to minimize the flexing problem.
If you need long drill bits only once in a while, and have a drill bit sharpener handy, they are not too bad. I need some long drill bits for a job I was doing, noticed these were the only ones available here at Amazon at the moment, and they were cheap.
These are in the junk category. I am impressed with some of the products being produced by Taiwan.
I bought these on a whim. They flex like crazy.
More importantly, I used one to drill some holes in oak, which is wood, not metal, and they dulled after only a few drillings. So I got what I paid for.
For that reason I give it 3 stars.
And. I purchased these bits Aug 2004. Put a bit in my delta drill press and noticed that the business end had a significant wobble. all were deflected, none really straight. poor materials, poorly made. Took the bit out and laid it flat on my granite surface plate to check its straightness.
Decent bits are relatively ridged, stiff. Chinese made I believe. upon stress the bit simply bent in my hand. Significant deflection of straightness showed up. checked several other of the drill bits. So I advise not to buy these drills.
You will be disappointed.
